At around 10:10 a.m. on Thursday morning, detectives were working an auto theft initiative in Southwest Baltimore when police say they spotted a vehicle stolen during a carjacking while patrolling in the 600 block of North Longwood Street.

With an assist from a police helicopter, the detectives were able to track the stolen vehicle to the 3400 block of West Lexington Street, at which point two teens bailed out of the car and attempted to flee on foot, though they did not make it far.

A 16-year-old and 14-year-old boy were arrested by detectives and taken to the Baltimore Police Department's Juvenile Booking Intake Facility, where it was determined the older suspect was recently arrested in August for a similar theft.

Detectives are now working to see if the teens are linked to any other recent incidents throughout the city.
